The 1985 symposium of the International PEN German-speaking Writers abroad was hold in the memory of the german caricaturist Ludwig Wronkow. The symposium introduced and discussed for the first time about German film-makers in american exile. Other subjects have been musicians and poets in exile and in particular the writers Oskar Maria Graf, Klaus Mann and the journalist Johannes Steel.
